PlayIQ started with a simple frustration — too much time spent on spreadsheets, WhatsApp threads, and printed PDFs, and not enough time actually coaching. We built the platform we wished existed.
THE PROBLEM

The average youth soccer coach spends hours each week writing up practice plans, copying them into group chats, chasing players for confirmation, and trying to remember who showed up last Tuesday. None of that is coaching.

THE STORY
From the sidelines to the codebase
PlayIQ was founded by a Canada Soccer–licensed coach and former Microsoft software engineer who spent years coaching youth soccer while building enterprise software — and couldn't stop noticing the gap between what technology could do and what coaches actually had access to.
The first version was built to solve a single problem: getting drills from a PDF plan into players' hands in under a minute. That became AI Drill Import. Then came player notifications, the Android app, coach feedback, parent dashboards, multi-coach club management, and the AI Coaching Assistant.
PlayIQ is built in Canada, used by youth soccer coaches and players across Canada, and focused entirely on youth sport development — not elite academies or professional clubs. The coaches using PlayIQ are volunteers and semi-professionals who care deeply about the kids on their team. That's who we build for.
